So how was the weekend? I hope you all are having some enjoyment time and not all I've-got-to-get-this-done-time. I feel oddly calm about the whole thing. Weird I know. Anywho... got my candy canes finished. That meant a bath in stiffener and then I painted them with glue and Frankie glittered them up. I love how they look, but wow, there's a whole lotta glitter going on around the house.
So I took a million photos. I call it my "I look at too much Pinterest" series.

Love your candy canes. I have a collection of them but I am too lazy to make them myself. I buy them when I see them, hope I find some vintage ones and have friends who make them. Works for me!
They are sweet! We would not be able to make them at our house. Glitter is banned. Once my husband went to an important meeting and the other guy said, "is that glitter on your nose.". My husband explained that he lives with three little girls...no more glitter now!

Oh, my, I love them!!!!! I am going to have to go find some fabric like that and get them made for next year. If I start now, maybe I'll be done by December, 2013!!!

These are so much fun! I would love to make them. I've never used stiffener - what do you use and how do you use it? Would love to know how you glue/glittered these, too! Ha - like you've got nothing else to do the week before Christmas but show us how to do these hee hee. I am in the have to get er done mode around here - too much to do and in a few days I'll start crossing things off my list - not that got done but that obviously won't get done this year. My lists are always hopeful but not realistic! But if I had some striped fabric like yours - I would probably stop and make a candy cane or two for fun distraction. :O)

I work with the Friends of the Library here in town and offered to decorate one of the trees. Any way you look at it, it is blah. So I decided (and it took some searching) to put some fake snow on it--the flaky kind. When I got home, I had glitter snow all over me. Looked like I had been rolling in it!
